Slayer Surgery
So I finally saw the surgeon and I am having hernia surgery on Friday.
Yay.
Or not.
I mean it's good I'm having it now--it hurts and I'm covered 100% right now. Hubby has a job prospect that is looking better, and that would mean starting over on insurance. This way I have a shot of feeling better by Christmas (I hope).
Same surgeon as the one who did my gallbladder (and hubby's). She said the pain will probably be worse. Great. BUT that's why we're going to do it at the hospital and she will admit me for pain control if it's too much. Added to Dream Team of Docs, check.
I'm freaking out a bit, mostly the thought of the pain. I *literally* thought I was dying when I woke up in recovery, thinking that you could not have pain that bad and NOT be dying. I remember frantically trying to have them get my husband, convinced it would be my last chance to say goodbye. Yeah. Freaking out. But I know ahead of time so hopefully that will also be better managed this go around.
It's the waiting that gets to me as well--it's like, just give me the damn happy juice IV drip and get on with it. Then I'm happy as a clam. I'm also going to insist on a oxygen mask instead of a cannula since it dries out my sinuses and gives me a killer migraine. And we're taking my ice bag for my head just in case. Plus my MP3 (impossible to sleep in the hospital) and possibly Tigress from Kung Fu Panda--hubby got her for me when I had my GB surgery. Yeah I like stuffed animals.
Feel free to drop me a line at headacheslayer@gmail.com.
I'll post asap.

Thanks hon! You'll have to let me know how life is, post-ablation. I have *had it*. So ready to be done lol. Just have to find someone who doesn't do Novasure. On account of my weirdly short uterus.
