Thursday 13: The Resolution Edition
13 of my Resolutions for 2006, courtesy of Leanne's Thursday 13!

2. Lose 30 pounds. Sure almost everyone has "lose weight" on their lists. And while my 14 pound weight loss for 2005 falls slightly short of my 'lose 20 lbs' resolution, I'm cutting myself some slack. Between the headaches, my knee injuries, and heck, the whole CFS/FMS thing, I'm pretty proud I got that far. I've been out of the gym for too long--December is a workout enough, eh? 3. Attend a concert. This year, I was fortunate enough to see country singer Trace Adkins, and Blue Collar comedians Ron White and Bill Engvall. I forgot how much fun I have, especially going out with my hubby. More fun for 2006! 4. Go to a Lightning game. I may have to sell an organ to go see our Stanley Cup Champs, but hockey rocks. Nuff said. 5. Sing the National Anthem. As in get up the nerve to go audition for one of our local teams. Sheesh, one slip on the ice, and I've got, er, cold feet. 6. Make a quilt. This one will take a bit of creativity, since sewing causes alot of pain, which brings on the headaches. I'm going to see if raising my sewing machine will help--GoalieMan gets to play with tools! 7. Finish my craft room. Again with the 'GoalieMan gets to play with tools'. When it's done, it will be a craft room slash piano room slash toy room. Can you say "multipurpose?" 8. Volunteer with an animal shelter. I have your average "cat and dog" shelter and a wildlife center to choose from. I'm leaning towards the latter, even though I'll probably want to bring them all home with me too ;) 9. Take yoga. That's kind of in keeping with #2, but I think it deserves its own resolution. 10. Find another piano student. I have a lead on one :::crossing fingers::::. I think it's awesome that so many schools offer piano, but I wind up losing students that way. So right now I have 2, one of them is my own daughter LOL. 11. Sing a solo for church. I really love being in choir, but what can I say, I like to stand out. I sang a few in 2005, so this one is probably a "gimme" for resolutions. 12. Celebrate my anniversary in a special way. After our cruise this year, GM and I realised that as much as we love being parents, now that the kids are older, it's time to refocus a bit more on us. Obviously there is no way we can take such a grand trip this year, but our anniversary should be recognized by more than dinner and a movie. 13. Try a new food. In 2005, it was buffalo (which makes AWESOME burgers). I'm going to try my hand at making creme brulee on New Year's Day, but I'm sure there's a food out there we haven't yet tasted. We're pretty adventuresome culinary-wise, so this may be a challenge. Suggestions? |

Creme brulee - YUM! And actually very easy to make. :) In Parish they serve it warm and that's my favorite way to eat it. So try it both ways - warm and chilled. :)

Happy Thursday 13! My mom made our stockings from those kits. She also made one for my hubby once we got married. :)
I LOVE eating bison...and bison burgers are soooo good. Bison is also a better meat for you than cattle too.
My 13 are up!

Great list, and I hope you achieve everything! I am quite fond of French cuisine and the creme brulee fits right in with that! But I'm more of a chicken and sauce kind of guy.
My list is up too.

What a great list! I'd be in big trouble if you let me volunteer at any animal rescue place! I can hear Mike now..."Theresa, why is there a litter of baby squirrels living in my slipper?"

December is a workout enough - YOU SAID IT! I love your list!! I would like to score some Devils tickets next year. Thats on my list for sure. I have to think about the rest, but I know losing weight is ALWAYS on it somewhere.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ANGEL!

If we do visit, perhaps I should time it for when the Sens play the Lightening. Cause you know, they got the cup last year, but it's our turn this year! We've got a good chance.
